Bien Has Ushered in a New Era at Its Çine Plant: The World’s Longest Slab Kiln Has Been Fired Up
As one of the leading brands in Turkey and the global construction industry, Bien has successfully reached another strategic milestone with the launch of its new production facility in the Aydın Çine Organized Industrial Zone, developed as part of its growth strategy. The first gas ignition has taken place in the slab kiln, where large-format porcelain slab production will be carried out. With this development, Bien’s next-generation slab production facility has officially become operational.
While the facility continues to progress according to the planned production schedule, it has also marked an important milestone in contributing to the regional economy and employment.
A Strategic Contribution to Turkey’s Industry from Bien: The Major Investment is Now Operational
The Çine facility, which Bien plans to establish with a total investment budget of 200 million euros, will feature 500,000 m² of indoor space, 11 production lines, and a production capacity that will make it not only one of Turkey’s largest, but also one of the world’s largest slab manufacturing facilities under a single roof.
With the new production line, Bien will ascend to the ranks of the world’s leading slab manufacturers, and 60% of the products produced are planned for export markets.
The facility, which already employs 600 people, aims to produce a wide range of products, including porcelain kitchen countertops. In the initial phase, production will focus on large-format porcelain slabs (slabs) in dimensions of 160x320 cm (12 mm), 120x280 cm (6 mm), 100x300 cm (3 mm), and 80x320 cm (12 mm).
Equipped with advanced robotic technologies, the facility is designed to ensure high efficiency and superior quality standards throughout the production process.
A New Product Category: Porcelain Kitchen Countertops
The Çine investment also marks the beginning of a brand-new sales category for Bien. The porcelain kitchen countertops, which will be produced for the first time, are designed for use in various settings such as kitchens where hygiene and durability are prioritized, as well as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and food production facilities.
This high value-added product group is planned to be positioned at a higher price level compared to existing ceramic covering products, which is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s revenue structure. Depending on market conditions and demand levels, production in this category is anticipated to provide additional annual contributions.
